Brandon Woods, CRCST, finds true passion in his work in sterile supply. It’s not just a job to him. It's an act of love and an act of remembrance.

“I chose this career because, years ago, I lost my grandmother to a staph infection while she was in a hospital,” says Brandon, an instrumentation coordinator. “I never want another person to experience the pain I felt. So, I take pride in ensuring that the sterility of our instruments is to the fullest standards. I get a type of satisfaction when I know I'm contributing to patient safety and positive outcomes.”

In sterile supply, many staff rely on important teammates like Brandon, who work behind the scenes to support the health system’s critical mission of quality patient care. Their work ensures that lifesaving and healing outpatient operations can be performed.

Brandon, who moved to Ohio from Orlando eight years ago, says providing excellent care to members of his community is very important to him, and the staff and clinical teams at Ohio State Outpatient Care New Albany make him feel a part of the team.

“It really warms my heart,” he says, adding that his ‘magnificent’ team is part of what inspires him to come to work every day.
