About Me

I am a non-invasive cardiologist, professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, director of the Lipid Clinics and section director of Preventative Cardiology and Women’s Cardiovascular Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in women’s cardiovascular health, prevention and cardiac imaging. I am an avid promoter, educator and media spokesperson on both prevention and women’s cardiovascular health.

My clinical and research interests include obstructive and non-obstructive coronary artery disease in women. In addition to my clinical research, I have published a number of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. I served as the first female president of the Ohio chapter of the American College of Cardiology and am a member of several committees within the organization.

I previously served as president of the metro Columbus Board of Directors for the American Heart Association (AHA) and as a member of their Great Rivers Affiliate Board and am currently the chair of the AHA’s Cardiovascular Disease in Women and Special Populations Committee.

Additionally, I chaired the American Heart Association’s first ever scientific statement on acute myocardial infarction in women as well as their first statement on breast cancer and cardiovascular disease.

    Very good

Dr. Mehta is the best. She is on time, respectful, Smart, excellent Cardiologist, witty, pleasant, thoroughly thinks through a plan of action, contacts EP when out of her realm and we communicate through MyChart with results and follow. A pleasure and a privelege to have her as my physician.

    Prefessional, very caring, good

I have never been to a doctor (Mehta) so in depth and caring with a plan with my health history. Very pleased and she took time to explain things.

This provider has literally added years to my life, I can't give a better review than that.

  • Reviewed on Dec 03, 2023

In general-rude and dismissive. Passively disrespectful towards my concerns-made assumptions regarding my management of the condition for which I was being seen. Seemed irritated with the appointment-started tapping her feet as soon as I spoke, sarcastic tone and high level verbal communication without deeper explanation for understanding.

Very attentive - goes above & beyond for patient care!

My care provider is great, that's why I am with that doctor.
