About Me
As a sports medicine physician, I provide evidence-based, individualized care and take the time to get to know my patients and their unique conditions. I have found that educating individuals on their course of treatment and building confidence in the patient-physician relationship leads to the best outcomes. Because I’ve experienced several injuries throughout my own sports career, I’m better able to relate to what my patients are going through. I love seeing people improve and return to the activities that they love.
I enjoy working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because of the special camaraderie that is shared among my colleagues. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with the next generation of physicians through various stages in the learning process.
In my free time I enjoy going to local sports events, concerts, the Columbus Zoo, local breweries, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. Dr. Albrechta was terrific. He reviewed my medical record on the computer during my exam. He listened to my explanation of how my injury came to be, thoroughly examined my foot, and gave me options for treatment and follow up. He was also very empathetic that I was injured (I was not happy about it). I would highly recommend him and this entire office.
Dr. Albrechta always greets me with a smile - I feel he cares about me and helping with pain my joints.

Dr. Albrechta is wonderful! He was patient, kind, and took the time to listen to my concerns. He made me feel like he had time for any and all questions that I had about my injury. It felt rushed. He answered my questions, but I felt like I had to ask him multiple times to make sure I understood, and that he understood my situation without being brushed off.

The physician introduced me to a medical student who was shadowing him. After reviewing my HOPI, the physician performed a thorough knee (MSK) examination. He presented me with a solid differential diagnosis and explained why he was ruling out some of the diagnoses on the list. He presented clear options for me and allowed me to ask clarifying questions. I decided (with his guidance) that it was appropriate to try home therapy and some basic exercises before ordering an expensive MRI to assess for a torn meniscus. He reassured me that we can always return to getting an MRI if the suggested therapies do not work.
My care provider (2 doctors) were great I'm very satisfied w/my visit & will return. Also would recommend to anyone!
