About Me
I specialize in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I perform the full spectrum of procedures in this specialty and I’m proud to be part of such an excellent multidisciplinary team. The most rewarding part of my work is to see my patients after surgery resuming their life with their prior form and function.
My expertise includes additional specialty training in microsurgery. This technique allows patients to use their own tissues to reconstruct defects and deformities. An example of microsurgical reconstruction would be using a patient’s own abdominal tissues to recreate the breast after mastectomy, without the need for implants.
My research interests include clinical investigations that can have an immediate impact on patient care, and I have published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles.
I am an active leader and participant in the training of future surgeons. I am the director of the Microsurgery Fellowship program in the Department of Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University. I also serve as the department’s vice chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
My experience also includes overseas medical missions. I have undertaken charitable work to treat patients and train local surgeons in underserved communities, including in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
