Andrew Hundley, MD, is the division director of the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He is also an assistant professor at Ohio State.

Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Hundley received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. His postgraduate training includes an internship/residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women’s/Massachusetts General Hospitals, followed by a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was recruited by Ohio State to start the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

During his time at Ohio State, Dr. Hundley has developed a busy clinical practice, provided resident education and clinical training in urogynecology, taught at numerous educational courses and continued to publish in academic journals. His interests include female urinary and fecal incontinence, voiding dysfunction including frequency, urgency, pain and urinary retention, hematuria, tmedical and surgical management of pelvic organ prolapse, repair of complex genitourinary defects, such as urethral diverticuli and fistulas, and birth-related injuries.

Dr. Hundley has been active as a researcher in the field of urogynecology. He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals on topics including methods of pelvic strength assessment, risk factors for female pelvic floor injury during operative vaginal delivery, possible genetic links to prolapse using polymerase chain reaction techniques, and a multicenter trial examining urodynamic catheter function.

Dr. Hundley has received numerous awards and honors during his academic years including multiple teaching awards during residency, as well as a Berlex Foundation Workshop Award for young researchers. He has been recognized on numerous occasions for having some of the highest patient satisfaction scores within the Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. He was also selected for the first Talent Management and Development Academy class, designed to mentor future leaders in surgical departments. He is a member of several academic societies including the American Urogynecologic Society and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
