About Me
My expertise is in otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat). I have a particular interest in voice, swallowing, sinonasal and thyroid/parathyroid disorders. In my specialty, there are many medical and surgical treatment options that can make a significant impact in a patient's quality of life. Our multidisciplinary team provides patients with a tailored and targeted treatment plan for their specific disease.
I help my patients make informed decisions about how to approach their care. I provide all available treatment options and discuss important aspects of each. A well-informed patient can make decisions that contribute to a better outcome.
At Ohio State, we have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while collaborating with other specialists. I work closely with other specialty areas such as pulmonary, allergy, speech pathology, gastroenterology and neurology to provide comprehensive care to my patients. We have the resources we need to really help our patients.
In my free time, I enjoy attending Ohio State football games, traveling and relaxing with family. This includes taking an occasional time out to coach my daughters' volleyball and basketball teams.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr DeSilva is one of the finest specialists that I have ever worked with. On this visit he took care of my immediate problem with minimal discomfort. He then gave me advice on the proper way to at least delay the return of that problem. It was obvious that he is concerned about maximizing my ability to hear.

Dr DeSilva inspired confidence by explaining everything he was doing in a way I could understand, by being efficient but not in a rush, by listening to my feedback and concerns, by frequently checking on my comfort level during the procedure, and by carefully explaining what I should expect went I went home. He called me personally the next day with test results. I would also say he must be a terrific teacher based on my observations of his interactions with his student.

Dr. Brad Desilva was amazing, kind, caring explained the issues of our daughter respiratory were no allergic related and to change our suctioning routine which as helped so much! He took the time to explain everything. He is amazing and we hope to keep coming to Dr. Desilva in order to give our daughter the best care she deserves! Also would like to mention DR. JOSEPH Cleary I called about a prescription for a 14 French tube. He sent me emails and follow-ups and answered all my questions. He also was amazing!

He is very thorough. I like him and feel very confident and comfortable in his care. But he might be too much of a "specialist." I guess I need to go back to my ENT for more comprehensive care of my ears, nose and throat. My voice has improved for periods with the Botox injections.
