About Me

I’m a senior transplant physician with more than 20 years experience in blood and marrow/hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (BMT/HSCT). I have expertise in managing Graft vs. Host Disease (GVHD) and post-transplant infectious complications. My passion is identifying, developing and implementing system improvements and processes that will improve the quality of patient care and safety.

Additionally I serve as medical director of quality at The James and physician advisor for Ohio State. I’m involved in more than a dozen clinical trials of new therapies to treat BMT/HSCT transplant issues and complications.

I’m pleased to have been honored by multiple years of clinical recognition by America’s Best Doctors, Top Doctors in Central Ohio, America's Top Physicians and Best Doctors in Columbus. I’ve been recognized for having high patient satisfaction, and was named as professor of the year from the College of Medicine.

I believe in the OSUCCC – James’ three-pronged mission of excellence in patient care, teaching and research to improve the quality of life for all patients. As I see it, the patient is my focus — not just his or her disease.

Being in an academic environment is very rewarding and I serve as a professor of clinical internal medicine for The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I enjoy teaching medical students and residents how to deliver quality, compassionate care. I view myself as having a critical role in educating the next generation of doctors.
