About Me

I am a physician-scientist and clinical endocrinologist with more than 20 years of experience. My area of expertise is treating patients with pituitary and adrenal tumors (including adrenal cancer and pheochromocytoma), and inherited syndromes that cause endocrine tumors or other endocrine dysfunction. I serve as a professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at The Ohio State University.

I am also the associate director for cancer education and training at the OSUCCC – James, as well as a member of the Cancer Biology Program. My NIH-funded research is focused on endocrine tumor genetics, with a specific interest in understanding how genes that cause inherited endocrine tumor syndromes in people contribute to tumorigenesis in endocrine tissues like the thyroid and adrenal glands but don’t cause tumors in other organs.

I currently serve as principal investigator or co-investigator for five active research projects and clinical trials in Cushing syndrome and acromegaly. I’ve presented my findings at numerous national and international meetings, and have had my work published in peer-reviewed academic publications.

The collegial, caring atmosphere at the OSUCCC – James makes this not only a wonderful place to work but a great place to receive treatment, too. Our multidisciplinary approach, combined with state-of-the-art science and our evolving research, helps patients have more efficient, targeted treatment and better outcomes.
