About Me
Obstetrics and gynecology is one of the most inspiring and fulfilling specialties. It’s wonderful to get to know the women I care for over time, helping them through pivotal stages in their lives. I believe in providing compassionate, personalized, evidence-based care. I enjoy taking care of women for the general gynecologic care, pregnancy, and have a special interest in polycystic ovarian syndrome.
I’ve been part of the Buckeye community since medical school and have enjoyed every step of my academic journey. Now, I instruct third-year medical students during Ob/Gyn rotations, facilitate small group sessions and participate as a mentor when assigned to students.
A major part of why I stayed at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center throughout my medical training and the start of my career is because of the people. The physicians, specialists, nurses and staff make each patient feel welcome and cared for. It’s also been beneficial to work somewhere with access to the best resources for complex patient cases.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, reading, cooking and exercise.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

This was the second time that I had this procedure. The first time I had a very very bad reaction. This Dr was very kind compassionate.
Always helpful with what I need or with my concerns
Dr Soma is one of the best providers I've ever worked with. She listens intently and asks amazing follow ip questions that lead to solutions. She genuinely cares about her patients, asking about their lives and advocating for them.
She listened and provided great advice
This was my first visit with Dr. Soma. I brought up a long-standing problem, and she listened carefully and did not suggest that it was all in my head or seem eager to get rid of me. I was very grateful. She gave a few recommendations, which I will follow up on.
