Information on your initial evaluation and forms you may be asked to review before your visit
Your treatment may begin with a neuropsychological evaluation. These measurements are requested by your doctors to understand the cause of problems with memory, attention or other mental abilities or thinking that are related to neurological, medical or psychiatric conditions.
A typical neuropsychological evaluation will require several hours and will include measures of memory, problem solving, organization, attention and personality. The evaluation is very sensitive to mild memory and thinking problems that might not be obvious in other ways. Your physician will use the results of the examination along with the results of other tests, such as brain imaging and blood tests, to come to the most informed diagnosis possible.
