Patient food
A dietetic technician visits patients to help with daily food selection. If you’re not in your room when the dietetic technician visits, you’ll receive the chef’s daily special based on current diet orders. For patients on restricted diets, a registered dietitian will complete a nutritional assessment and help you choose from a variety of foods that meet your medical needs. Many snacks and beverages are also available on your patient care floor. You are welcome to choose from these at any time. Ask your nurse or PCA about available offerings.

Located on the conference level of The James, Au Bon Pain is a full-service café offering made-to-order sandwiches, salads, baked goods, breads, hot or iced coffee and tea.
BistrOH!
Located on the first floor of Rhodes Hall, BistrOH! is the hospital cafeteria and features items such as flatbread pizzas, signature salads, hot and cold sandwiches and entrees.
BistrOH! RoboJo
Located in The James lobby, this robot operated coffee bar will be open for business 23 hours a day, 7 days a week. It will be closed daily from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. for servicing. The kiosk accepts payments via credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
BistrOH! To Go
Located on the University Hospital concourse, BistrOH! To Go offers quickserve and grab-and-go items.
Bloch Café
Located on the 14th floor of The James, the Bloch Café offers healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Outdoor seating is available in the terrace garden, weather permitting.
Brenen’s Café
Located in the lobby of the Biomedical Research Tower, 460 W. 12th Ave., Brenen’s is a full-service café offering breakfast and lunch including baked goods, salads, frozen yogurt and coffee. Open weekdays.
The Caffeine Element
Located on the first floor of Prior Hall in the Health Sciences Library, 376 W. 10th Ave., offering coffee, homemade baked goods, Sammy’s bagels, sushi, salads, sandwiches and more. Open weekdays. Please note that the café accepts only cashless payment methods via credit card, GrubHub and BuckID.
The Cheesecake Girl
Located in the first-floor corridor between the 12th Avenue Garage and Doan Hall, The Cheesecake Girl sells a variety of homemade cheesecakes and other desserts. View menu.
EspressOasis
Located in the first-floor corridor between the 12th Avenue Garage and Doan Hall, EspressOasis serves pastries, coffees and other beverages.
Neuro BistrOH!
Located on the ground floor of the Brain and Spine Hospital, Neuro BistrOH! serves grab-and-go sandwiches as well as no-sugar-added smoothies, tea and Starbucks hot and iced coffees. Open weekdays.
Panera
Located in the SAFEAUTO Garage, Panera is a full-service bakery-café with breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including hot soups, fresh salads, sandwiches on freshly baked bread, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, cookies and coffee.
Wendy’s
Located on the ground floor between Doan Hall and the Brain and Spine Hospital.
Vending machines
Located in larger areas throughout the medical center, vending machines are always available, offering snacks, beverages and entrees. Change machines are also provided.
