So we want every patient to be treated in a multifaceted, comprehensive way. [Text on screen: Tirisham Gyang, MD MS Specialist, Neurologist The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center] Tirisham Gyang, MD: We have what's called a quality of life clinic where we have the doctor, which is the MS doctor, the neurologist, we have a psychologist that works with us in that clinic, we have rehab, so physical therapy, occupational therapy. We're incorporating urology, pain management. [Text on screen: Kristi Epstein, APRN, CNP, CCRN MS Nurse Practitioner The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center] Kristi Epstein, APRN, CNP, CCRN: Out of the quality of life clinic, we often make referrals to our MS multidisciplinary symptom management clinic. MS patients can then see subspecialists such as sleep specialists, urologists, talk therapists, and physical therapists all within one visit here at Martha Morehouse Pavilion. Benjamin Segal, MD: Another advancement that we've introduced is we have an MS specialty pharmacist. This is very helpful and another layer of higher level care that we provide at the Ohio State. [Text on screen: Em Harrington, MD, PhD MS Specialist, Neurologist The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center] Em Harrington, MD, PhD: We have so many treatments now that we can offer people. So when you would think of MS back in the 1980s, there weren't a lot of things that were out at that point, the first drugs were coming out. And so a lot of people's long-term prognosis looked worse than it does today. So I'm really encouraged by having things to offer to people and seeing people do really well on treatment. [Text on screen: Yinan Zhang, MD MS Specialist, Neurologist The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center] Yinan Zhang, MD: I encourage patients to come to the Ohio State University to seek out their care because at an academic institution such as OSU, our providers are able to provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based and individualized care for our patients.
