A lot of times the symptoms are worse at night, and patients wake up from sleep with numbness and tingling and pain in their hand. Treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, depending on the severity, typically starts with a brace, particularly to wear at night when patients sleep. Hand therapy exercises can also help improve the symptoms. Ultimately, if the symptoms do not improve or are very severe, then surgery can help cure the carpal tunnel syndrome.
