What have you enjoyed most about your time at The James? [Onscreen text: Marie J. Webber, MHSA, FACHE Associate Executive Director, Clinical Services OSUCCC -- James] Smith: I would say I have enjoyed building connections and getting to see the ins and outs of the hospital from operations to seeing clinical teams. Webber: Why should someone apply to be a Buckeye Pathways summer intern? Smith: People should consider applying to be a Buckeye Summer Pathways intern because the opportunities are endless here, and you get to see lots of robust experiences and learn from many great people here. From, like I said, seeing the operations and clinical teams and executives, and I don't think there's many opportunities like this. Webber: What is something that you'll take away or that you've learned from this summer internship experience? Smith: I would say that I learned lots of new ways of thinking when it comes to the hospital. Previously, my only experience is being a patient and learning what I can from schooling and whatnot. So I think that lots of different critical thinking skills I gained from this experience. What is something you learned or take away from this internship experience? Webber: Well, Khya, it's that your excitement and enthusiasm for hospital administration is really infectious. I think our whole team's really enjoyed working with you, mentoring you, and seeing your excitement brought to the projects and that's fresh eyes and it's always a joy and really rewarding to see somebody grow in their career and find that passionate spot that they want to focus on in the future.
