Beth Short, APRN-CNP, DNP: When a patient comes to the Heart Express Care clinic and they have an acute issue, we evaluate them and most importantly, we reassure them that if they're not having a heart attack, we can do EKGs. We can order the labs.

Then upon the evaluation and their risk factors, we can determine what testing would be appropriate for them to determine the underlying cause of their symptoms. Once we determine what testing is needed, we will follow up with the patient and determine if they can go back to their primary care physician or if they need to be sent on for other testing such as a heart cath, maybe an MRI, and then referred to a cardiologist for follow up.
