Tameka Todd: What I love about being a nurse practitioner is engaging with the patients and helping them create their treatment plan for their health. It's important to see someone for primary care so you know the status of your health. A first visit with a primary care nurse practitioner is similar to that with seeing a physician. You come in, you get checked in, your vitals are done. They'll update things in the chart like your pharmacy and allergies. We'll ask questions about your medical history and also learn a little more about you personally as a patient.
