Agrawal: I've really enjoyed connecting with so many people across the organization, including you both and Andy (Thomas), my amazing mentors, and also being able to shadow so many different areas of the hospital. King Boyles: Why should someone apply to be a Buckeye Pathway summer intern? Agrawal: They should apply because the program offers a lot of unique opportunities where you get to build meaningful connections, explore the entire medical center, and grow professionally and personally. King Boyles: Working with Shruti this summer, I've been reminded of the importance of initiative and connections. Shruti researched different people and programs she wanted to see at the medical center, and we were able to connect her with a lot of those folks, and she's really built great connections with those people and I'm hopeful that, by the end of the summer, she'll have a stronger and bigger network to draw in as she builds her career. Agrawal: The biggest takeaway that I have learned from the Buckeye Pathways Summer Internship is how important it is to pursue work that gives you purpose and keeps you motivated. Dauer: One of the things that I've taken away and learned or been reminded of from the summer internship program is the potential and the capabilities of the future generation. I guess that makes me sound a little bit old, but there's amazing talent at Ohio State and across the nation. And for us as leaders to have a chance to engage with the next generation or the generations that are coming and influence and partner with them to really think about the future has been an amazing experience.
