Sruti Akella, MD: Hello, my name is Dr. Sruti Akella and I'm a board certified oculofacial plastic surgeon here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Brow lift surgery can help rejuvenate your appearance by lifting sagging brows, reducing wrinkles, and overall restoring a youthful look to your face. Best of all, surgery is permanent and, unlike Botox or other fillers, doesn't need to be redone. There are many different techniques for an eyebrow lift, including endoscopic, direct, or temporal approaches. 

But in general, during the procedure, small incisions are made so that I can carefully lift and reposition the tissues, resulting in a more youthful and natural appearance. Most patients can return to normal activities within seven to 10 days. After the surgery, you may notice some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort, but this typically subsides within a week or two. Most patients describe any discomfort as minimal and can normally be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
