Why you should avoid ‘toughing out’ a migraine attack [Music playing] Kevin Weber, MD, MHA: A patient should avoid toughing out a migraine attack because a lot of times the rescue treatments work better the sooner they're taken during the migraine attack. So for instance, a lot of patients will sometimes wait to see if their headache is going to turn into a full-blown severe migraine attack, and by that time it sometimes it's too late, and then their migraine attack that may have lasted a few hours or all day turns into a two or three day affair. So we recommend patients take their rescue treatment early on in the migraine attack, if at all possible.   The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center logo For more information, visit: wexnermedical.osu.edu/migraine
