[Music playing] Justin Barterian, PhD: ADHD is a developmental disorder, meaning that if you have ADHD as an adult, you must have also had ADHD as a child. Though you might not have been diagnosed until adulthood, you must've displayed some sort of symptoms, such as distractedness, forgetfulness, trouble paying attention that maybe progressed and got more problematic as you got older. In children, typically we see maybe a little bit more hyperactivity, so trouble staying in their seat, almost looking like they are run by a motor, just having to constantly be doing something, too much talking, too loud, those sorts of things. As people get older, they may grow out of some of the hyperactivity symptoms and where that turns less from an outward hyperactivity into more of an internal restlessness.
