[Text on screen: Kevin D. Martin, DO Orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon] [Music playing] Kevin Martin, DO: Hi, my name is Dr. Kevin Martin, and I'm an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. So what does that mean I do? It means I specialize in foot and ankle surgery from the knee to the toes. With 23 years of active duty experience, I've gotten the privilege to take care of multiple wounded warriors, from our special operations soldiers to our Olympic athletes. I feel this experience has really prepared me not only to take care of our Ohio State Division I athletes, but also to take care of all of you average day folks just like me that just want to get back to our job and our function sooner. My approach to patient needs is patient first. Working on your specific problem, I try to be a good listener first, being able to take in your problem and your direct needs. Each patient's going to have their own prospective needs. Maybe it's driving, maybe it's back to work, maybe you're an elite athlete, or maybe it's a stay at home mom that wants to get back to work and get back to taking care of your family. So my perspective is be able to get you back to life as soon as possible. I think the most rewarding part of my job is returning patients to their function. People come to see me when they're in pain or they've lost function, whether that's an Achilles rupture or just an ankle sprain. So that's definitely the best part of my life, getting you back to your life sooner. [Text on screen: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center] [Music ends]
