Mamoon Syed joined Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in 2015 from Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center in San Diego. As associate vice president of Human Resources for the medical center, Mamoon provides strategic HR support, with a sharp focus on recruiting, effectiveness and efficiency, and leads the multidisciplinary HR team. He also works closely with the leadership team to advance the mission and vision of the medical center.
As the vice president of Human Resources and Support Services at Rady Children’s, Mamoon oversaw the areas of recruitment, labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, organizational development staff education, human resources information systems, food services, environmental services and occupational health. Prior to his appointment at Rady Children’s, Mamoon served as director of Human Resources, Education and Organizational Development at Mercy Health System in Janesville, Wisconsin. He was the Workforce Lead when Mercy received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2007.
Mamoon earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Health Administration degrees from the University of Minnesota. He maintains certifications as a Six Sigma Green Belt, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator-APT.
