Chief Administrative Officer, College of Medicine, Ohio State University Physicians, Office of Health Sciences

Dr. Wendy Horton serves as chief administrative officer for the Office of Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Ohio State University Physicians at The Ohio State University. In this role, Dr. Horton works closely with departments and leaders across the organization, as well as with community and industry peers, to cultivate an administrative structure that supports Wexner Medical Center’s mission of research, education and clinical care. She is also responsible for driving many of the major initiatives of our ambitious strategic plan as the Wexner Medical Center works to become a top-20 academic medical center.

Prior to joining the organization in 2017, Dr. Horton served on the senior leadership team at UW Health for 12 years. As vice president of Operations, she led the development, build and opening of UW Health at The American Center, a state-of-the-art hospital and wellness facility in Madison. Wisconsin. She also served as the director of the UW Health Surgery Program, where she oversaw numerous surgical programs and successfully increased both the volume and quality of procedures throughout the system.

Dr. Horton received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Utah and her bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University. She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma from the Wisconsin School of Business. She is active in the community and serves on a number of non-profit, business and professional association boards.
