Position summary

Nurse Practitioner - Rotation (Job Opening 439035) - Scope of Position
The focus of care for the Neuro Critical Care Nurse Practitioner will be to provide and support health care services to patients who are critically ill with neurological diseases and their families. Components of care that the Nurse Practitioner will be involved in, and not limited to, are: participation in patient care rounds; acquisition of histories and physicals upon patient admission; immediate and ongoing patient evaluation; ordering of diagnostics; and interventions within institutional and state established scope of practice; completion of documentation of services; and procedural services after appropriate training and credentialing. The individual will be an integral support for the Neuroscience Critical Care Program and will advance nursing practice with participation in research, evidence based practice and staff education.

Education and experience

Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Critical care or neurologic nursing certification and experience in the field of neurological disorders are preferred.
