Position summary

Manager - Advanced Practice (Job Opening 445292) - Scope of Position The Manager of the Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Professionals (APP) assists the Director in leading a team of both inpatient and outpatient APPs as well as managing the day to day operation of the cardiovascular service line. The APP Manager along with the Leads seeks to cultivate collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect among the multidisciplinary team. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his or her own plan of care, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. The manager has the responsibility of managing patient assignments across multiple service lines under the Ross Heart hospital. They are also responsible for providing direct health care services as an APP to patients under the parameters of a standard care agreement with an attending physician. The manager assumes responsibility for supporting the vision and direction of the services provided by the APP, as well as the operational plans to support the vision of the Medical Center. Position Summary The manager is responsible for managing operations, evaluating employee performance, assuring customer satisfaction (internal and external), and strategic as well as operational planning and program development. The manager serves as a leader and mentor within the department. The manager will be responsible for day to day staffing, scheduling, budgeting, evaluations, and will be directly involved in all of the hiring and posting of positions to the department. The manager is responsible for contributing to the ongoing operations of the nursing department and collaboration with other patient care areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care services is essential. The APP manager provides health care services which include acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention and referral to other health care providers and community resources when deemed appropriate.

Education and experience

For Hire: Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant ? Nurse Practitioner must have a Master?s Degree from an accredited NP program and ? Must be a graduate of either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant Program ? Two years? experience managing advanced practice providers is required. Prior cardiovascular experience required. ? Nurse Practitioner certification or certification eligible by the American Nurses Association (ANA) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). ? Licensed in the State of Ohio as a Nurse Practitioner; license must include prescriptive privileges. ? Passing grade on certifying examination administered by the NCCPA. Certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. ? Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required. ? Functions with demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of the aging processes, human development stage and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. On-going: Maintain appropriate Ohio license as applicable. Meet mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrate competence in essential job functions. Maintain knowledge related to patient care management, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures and protocols.
