Psychotherapist (Job Opening 445145) - Scope of Position The Ohio State University Medical Center?s mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education and research. The Psychiatric Social Worker at the OSU Harding Behavioral Health Stress, Trauma and Resilience Program Trauma Recovery Center (STAR TRC) functions as a critical member of a team of professional healthcare providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm and mutual respect, and is key in operationalizing the Medical Center?s mission, values, and goals. The psychiatric social worker focuses on helping patients at the Medical Center who are victims of crime to return to stable functioning by increasing their immediate access to mental health services, doing initial client assessments, providing individual and group therapy and completing screening tools/outcome measures with clients. Position Summary The STAR TRC clinician provides crisis intervention and clinical services to patients at the Medical Center who are victims of crime, and assists them to remove barriers to recovery and ongoing care. The psychiatric social worker also provides linkage and access to necessary community support services, including additional mental health services, transportation, financial benefits and medical and legal services. The psychiatric social worker also assists eligible patients to apply for Victim Compensation Benefits through the Ohio Attorney General?s Office. In some cases there will be overlap with Psychiatric Emergency Services and in such cases the STAR clinician will provide initial crisis assessment, intervention, and evaluation for admission to available programs, in collaboration with a Psychiatric Physician. Face-to-face assessments occur primarily in the OSU Emergency Department or in OSU Harding Hospital, but may also occur elsewhere within OSUMC, on request. Education and experience

Master?s Degree in Social Work or Counseling; Ohio License to practice (LSW or LPC); independent license preferred (LISW or LPCC).
