Position summary

Vascular Technologist (Job Opening 459976) - SCOPE OF POSITION Neurodiagnostic services encompass all technical functions with the Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), Evoked Potential (EP), Transcranial Dopplers (TCD), and Intraoperative Monitoring areas. The laboratories are diagnostic areas of the Department of Neurology for patients with suspected neurologic injury and/or disease. The EMU is the in-patient diagnostic area for patients with suspected epilepsy. The EEG laboratory is staffed Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with 24 hour, 7 day per week on-call service. The EMG laboratory is staffed Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EMU is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The TCD services are staffed 7 days per week 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. POSITION SUMMARY The Vascular Technologist performs transcranial Doppler studies and vascular procedures (both imaging and non-imaging) for the diagnosis of heart and vessel abnormalities. In addition, the position provides patient education and performs quality assessment activities for the division, under the direction of the Manager. When the Transcranial Doppler studies are not being performed, the Technologist will train and assist in the Neurodiagnostic lab which encompasses EEG, EMU, EMG, IOM and Evoked Potentials.

Education and experience

Required: Successful completion of an accredited Vascular Sonography program. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registry. Preferred: Previous ultrasound and transcranial Doppler experience is preferred..
