Clinical Program Manager (Job Opening 443374) - Scope of Position 
The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager provides assessments, and direction regarding HLD and Sterilization on any unit outside of CSS proper for the Health system. The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager is responsible for review of current practices, and providing evidence based best practices, policies and training in order to meet and maintain industry and regulatory standards across the Health System. Maintaining a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect, the HLD/Sterilization Program Manager serves as an integral member of both the operational and clinical teams in the Perioperative Department and associated ambulatory areas.  With seamless communication between leadership, business, education and staff as the focus, the HLD/Sterilization Program Manager will not only be responsible for operational support services, they will also provide the elements necessary to foster excellence in patient care.  The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager also works closely with the ambulatory and IP staff involved in high level disinfection (HLD) and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies for the Health System.

Position Summary 
The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager provides assessments, and direction regarding HLD and Sterilization on any unit outside of CSS proper for the Health system. The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager is responsible for review of current practices, and providing evidence based best practices, policies and training in order to meet and maintain industry and regulatory standards across the Health System. The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager works closely with the Nursing Staff Development Coordinators and educators on the respective units to ensure that staff meets yearly educational competencies.  The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager is expected to meet with unit leadership on a consistent basis to identify and evaluate unit specific issue related to HLD and sterilization delivery. The program manager is also encouraged to attend conferences/in-services outside of the department in order to maintain a current knowledge base.  The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager performs all tasks in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care, meets hospital continuing education and certification requirements and upholds goals and objectives of the various departments in the Health System.  The HLD/Sterilization Program Manager contributes to organizational effectiveness and demonstrates career growth and development.

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree preferred.  Must be Licensed or Registered Medical Professional. 3-5 years experience in Perioperative area  and/or sterile processing area. Clinical certification required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a high level of attention to detail and the ability to creatively solve practical problems dealing with many Perioperative and ambulatory variables.
