Position summary

Director-COM Alumni Affairs (Job Opening 443980) - Functions as the Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement for the College of Medicine; responsible for engaging alumni regionally, nationally and internationally with students, the College, donors and friends, ultimately raising the stature of and advancing the College of Medicine, including the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences; plans, strategizes and directs the operations and activities of the College of Medicine Alumni Affairs Office; develops strategic communication and marketing for alumni and external constituencies; creates and manages innovative and engagement volunteer opportunities for alumni; collaborates with communications and development staff, including annual giving, to build alumni involvement and support; guides and facilitates strategic and budgetary planning process for Alumni Affairs office; develops, implements, and manages annual budgets; makes fiscal projections; monitors expenses.

Education and experience

Bachelors degree required in relevant field; Masters degree strongly desired; Considerable experience in an administrative or management capacity required; considerable knowledge of University policies, rules and regulations required; experience and/or knowledge of University or college-level alumni affairs preferred; experience with annual campaigns and advancement desired; experience working with volunteers and academic leaders desired; proven track record in program development, implementation, and project management preferred; reasonable knowledge of accounting principles and practices required; computer literacy required with specific experience with database software. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
