Position summary

Engineering Manager (Job Opening 442933) - The Engineering Manager is responsible for the interviewing, hiring, performance management, and supervision of all assigned personnel. Manages overall long term planning of health system mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems. Directs contractors, manufacturers, staff and vendors in project tasks related to the health system MEP systems. Organizes and manages capital budget for MEP systems; provides direction on major initiatives and projects; and ensures the integration of building MEP systems with the overall mission of the Wexner Medical Center. Provides direction on building MEP system strategies, procedures, policies and methodologies to ensure compliance with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) and, patient, visitor and staff safety. Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor in the planning, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of building MEP systems that support, enhance and ensure effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of, building infrastructure systems for the Medical Center.

Education and experience

Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Professional engineering license required. At least 7 years of experience designing, troubleshooting and/or managing complex building MEP related infrastructure required with two of those years in a supervisory capacity.  Experience in healthcare operational setting, highly desired.  Extensive experience/knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and/or electrical distribution systems in industrial/commercial environments.  Ability to create and maintain strong team collaboration; foster a positive work environment.
