Position summary

Facilities Engineering Manager (Job Opening 443924) - The Ohio State Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients, visitors and staff. The shop supervisor for the Zone maintenance shop within the Department of Facilities Engineering functions to support the Medical Centers day-to-day operations of both the building and equipment. The shop supervisor for the zone maintenance position is responsible for all supervisory functions for zone personnel employed for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and repairs of the Medical Center facilities. Zone maintenance includes, but is not limited to: electric, plumbing, medical gas, beds, as well as other functions associated with the day to day operations of the Medical Center. This position encompasses communication, coordination, and compliance for the assigned areas. Areas and equipment are operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. May cover for other Facilities Engineering Supervisors due to absence, vacation, as necessary. Responsibilities include actively promoting an Intensive Caring image in support of an absolute customer satisfaction. The Supervisor for the Zone shop is responsible for the operational supervision of all personnel assigned, and for the operations and regulatory compliance of the areas, systems and equipment designated that is associated with the day-to-day operations. The Supervisor is responsible for inspecting, assessing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating personnel performance. The Shop Supervisor will prioritize personnel and shop activities related to the maintaining of the facilities.

Education and experience

Associate's degree in Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 4 years progressive Facilities operational management. Knowledge of regulatory standards. Read and interpret blueprints. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organizational skills.
