Position summary

Assoc Dir-Hosp Nutrition Svcs (Job Opening 444724) - Scope of Position The Department of Nutrition Services administers quality nutritional care and food service operations for all the patients, personnel, and visitors in the OSU hospitals and clinics of the OSU Medical Center, and the campus and community they serve. The Department coordinates activities to enhance patient, staff and customer satisfaction. The Department is responsible for nutrition care and food service and retail food operations for patients, personnel and visitors to the various hospitals and services for the OSU Health Care Systems and Business units including: University Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital East, OSU/Harding, James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute and all Seasons Express locations (Ackerman, Martha Morehouse Medical Pavilion, Eye and Ear Institute, Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center, Care Point East) Position Summary The Associate Director is directly responsible for Patient Foodservices for health system including main campus hospitals and University Hospital East. He/She coordinates patient meals service with internal department teams and patient care unit staff to meet/exceed patient experience targets as well as support patient nutrition care plans during admission or visit; Integrates all functions and responsibilities including central receiving, distribution, HC function, HC culinary operations oversight, patient service delivery, dish processing and required information systems; Oversees area financial, operational and staffing budgets; Coordinates patient services needs with other department management team members and works collaboratively to achieve best results with food production, purchasing, clinical nutrition, office and information systems groups; Works outwardly within the health system representing needs of Nutrition Services Patient Foodservice and actively develops relationships, contacts to support patient meals program; Facilitates department HR processes (position description, corrective action, other), staff training and orientation/onboarding with appropriate staff; and acts on behalf of the Director when needed and assures other area responsibilities when needed.

Education and experience

Bachelors Degree in food management, nutrition, culinary, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Masters Degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience in area of relevant responsibility. Registered and/or Licensed Dietitian.
