Position summary

Nurse Manager (Job Opening 432332) - The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, teaching and research. The Nurse Manager leads a team of care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. Under the manager's leadership patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. The Nurse Manager has 24 hour responsibility for the overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation of patient care operations for a designated area(s). The Nurse Manager is key in operationalizing the Medical Center's mission, values and goals and creates an environment that supports the nursing professional practice model. Position located at the James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

Education and experience

Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission) accredited nursing program required; Master?s Degree in Nursing preferred; current license as a registered nurse from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing required. Three years of nursing experience, plus an additional one to three years management or leadership experience required. Active certification in relevant area desired.
