Clinic Nurse Manager (Job Opening 439135) - Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research; the Nurse Manager (NM) leads a team of professional health care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The James Gynecologic Oncology (Gyn Onc) Ambulatory Clinic facilities support the care and management of people experiencing all stages of gynecologic cancer. Direct management responsibility includes but is not limited to direct patient care, supervision of all clinic cost centers personnel and coordination of all clinical care. JamesCare GynOnc at Mill Run offers an exam area for physician appointments and as well as an infusion area the administration of chemotherapy. Additionally, Gyn Onc offers an exam clinic at the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm. Position Summary: The clinic nurse manager is responsible for the overseeing the management and coordination of daily operations in both the clinic and infusion areas. The manager collaborates closely with medical staff, other medical center departments and the division of nursing in the coordination and continuity of patient care. Duties include the supervision of patient care, evaluation of patient outcomes and monitoring staff performance. The clinic nurse manager is responsible for process improvement activities and ensures compliance with all accreditation standards and educates staff about regulatory requirements. The manager interviews and selects personnel, is responsible for evaluating the appropriateness of staffing, is responsible for process improvement activities, participates in budget preparation and supports research activities.

Education and experience

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited nursing program required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred; current license as a registered nurse from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing required. Three years of nursing experience, plus an additional one to three years management or leadership experience required. Active certification in relevant area desired.
