The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital (OSUCCC-James) and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is committed to providing the community/region it serves with high quality services in cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation as one of the nations' 10 free standing "cancer-only" hospitals which, with 306 beds, is one of the largest PPS-exempt hospitals in the USA (1500+ FTE's). The OSUCCC-James encompasses over 380,000 outpatient and clinic patient visits, more than 12,500 hospital admissions and over 8,500 surgeries per year. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer is a member of the OSUCCC-James senior leadership team and as such contributes to the development and execution of the organization's mission, vision and values and strategic plan.

Position Summary:
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for all nursing care and practice related to clinical, educational and research activities. It supports sound fiscal and human resource practices and provides effective leadership in all areas of responsibility in order to support the development and achievement of the organization's strategic plan. This role is responsible for the practice of over 1,000 clinical staff serving as bedside nurses to advanced practitioners and managers across inpatient, outpatient and research facilities.

Education and experience

License to practice nursing in Ohio, Master's degree or other advanced degree in Nursing, Hospital Administration, Business Administration or similar field required.
Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience required.  Demonstrates ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with diverse groups.
