Position summary

Clinic Nurse-B (Job Opening 441392) - Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research; the Clinic Nurse will function as a Registered Nurse - Patient Care Coordinator (RN-PCC) and as a member of a team of professional health care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect; provides patient care and supportive services in an ambulatory care setting directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, and decreasing costs; ensures patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. Position Summary: The RN-PCC coordinates the patient care team in providing and documenting patient care in accordance with applicable standards of practice; provides clinical nursing support and ensures delivery of quality patient care in an outpatient clinical setting; coordinates clinic schedules; assesses, implements, coordinates, delegates and evaluates nursing care of patients; prioritizes patient care needs and provides nursing care accordingly; assists with or facilitates coordination of care, testing and procedures as ordered by physicians; performs specialized nursing care procedures as outlined in department/unit-specific competency profiles; provides leadership to, and development of, patient care team; identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes; participates in performance improvement activities; participates in medical and nursing research activities.

Education and experience

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing required; current licensure or interim permit in the practice of registered nursing from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing required; previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
