Position summary

Nurse-Enterstomal Therapist (Job Opening 441602) - Scope of Position The Enterostomal Therapy /Wound Ostomy Care (ET/WOC) nurse functions as an integral member of the patient care unit team as well as with other patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in the plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of stay, and decreasing costs. Position Summary The Enterostomal Therapy/ Wound Ostomy Care (ET/WOC) nurse provides care to patients with ostomies and/or skin problems using specialized nursing knowledge and clinical expertise. In addition, serves as a resource person for the patient, family, health care team members, and community at large. The ET/WOC coordinates the nursing plan of care of patients with fecal and urinary diversions, wounds, pressure ulcers, drains, NPWT evaluation, skin care problems, and incontinence.

Education and experience

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as an RN in the State of Ohio. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or provides evidence of enrollment in and continuing progress toward achieving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of an approved program of Enterostomal Therapy is required within 2 year of hire. Must have a minimum of 2 years wound nurse experience if not currently certifie,d and provides evidence of continuing work toward a certification.
