Staff Nurse-B (Job Opening 443087) - Scope of Position: The Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive. The Patient Care Coordinator-Registered Nurse (PCC-RN) functions as an integral member of the perioperative care team within the Department of Perioperative Services, whose members reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team consisting of Patient Care Coordinator-Registered Nurse (PCC-RN0, the Patient Care Associate (PCA), the Administrative Assistant, the Information Associate, the SNA, and the Student Intern provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward achievement of quality patient care outcomes, improvement of service levels, reduction of length of hospitalization, and reduction of costs. The Ambulatory Surgery Unit, located on 7 East Rhodes Hall, provides preoperative and postoperative care primarily to outpatients requiring surgical intervention. The Ambulatory Surgery Unit is staffed from 3:00 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Friday. Position Summary: The Patient Care Coordinator-Registered Nurse (PCC-RN) is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising the other members of the patient care team. They are responsible for assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients. The (PCC-RN) prioritizes patient care needs and provides the leadership and development of the patient care team based upon use of the competent knowledge, psychomotor skills, critical thinking and interpersonal relations skills. Overall skills include, but not limited to, preoperative management, neurological monitoring, IV fluid and drug management, wound management, pain management, and tube and drain management.

Education and experience

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
