Position summary

Staff Nurse-B (Job Opening 443562) - Scope of Position The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research. The IR Staff Nurse functions as a member of the IR team of care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. Diagnostic and interventional procedures are provided to inpatients, emergency department patients, and outpatients. The IR team provides outpatient prep and recovery services and care to a primarily adult and geriatric population directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. The IR outpatient procedure area encompasses 10 recovery rooms on the 2nd floor of Doan Hall. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. The IR outpatient recovery is staffed Monday through Friday 0600-2200. Evening, weekend, and holiday coverage is staffed on an on-call basis. Position Summary The IR Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team; assesses, implements, coordinates, delegates and evaluates the nursing care of patients; assists physician during the prep/recovery phase of IR procedures; prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership to, and development of the patient care team.

Education and experience

Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing; current licensure from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing; ACLS certification; minimum 1 year nursing experience required; background in Critical Care and/or Procedural medicine preferred.
