Position summary

Administrative Nursing Sup (Job Opening 444084) - SCOPE OF POSITION University Hospital East (UHE) is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. The Administrative Nursing Supervisor (ANS) provides leadership and supervision for patient care areas on a designated shift that reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The ANS facilitates patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization and decreasing costs. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. POSITION SUMMARY The Administrative Nursing Supervisor is primarily responsible for administering nursing operations during off-shift hours, weekends, and holidays. The ANS assists Nursing Management with planning, organizing, directing, and controlling patient care activities on a designated shift to ensure that the objectives and standards of nursing care are met. The ANS contributes to operationalizing University Hospital East?s mission, values, and goals; and functions as the on-site hospital representative for crisis, emergency or unusual situations occurring during the designated shift. The ANS supervises, guides, coaches, and assists with the evaluation of work performance of patient care staff on a designated shift. Ongoing collaboration with other UHE departments/areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations and services is essential. The Administrative Nursing Supervisor will demonstrate core competencies in the areas of Customer Service, Team Leadership, Staff Development, and Resource Management.

Education and experience

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; Masters in Nursing or related field is desired. Current Ohio RN license. Knowledge of complexity of patient care required; prior demonstration of leadership and management skills.
