Position summary

AP Specialty Lead (Job Opening 444086) - The Specialty Advanced Practice (AP) - Lead assists the manager in leading a team of inpatient and ambulatory advanced practice providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patienta??s involvement in his/her own plan of care, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. The AP Lead is also responsible for providing direct health care services as a advanced practice provider to adult patients within the parameters of a standard care agreement with an attending physician member of the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. The AP Lead assists the manager with the planning, organizing, directing and evaluation of the health care services provided by advanced practice providers. Under the guidance of the manager, the AP Lead assists in leading, guiding, and evaluating the work performance of inpatient and outpatient providers. Contributing to the ongoing operations of the Ross APP department and collaboration with other patient care departments/areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations and services is essential. The Lead also provides health care services to adult patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital medical staff. Health care services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention and referral to other health care providers and community resources when appropriate.

Education and experience

Current license and certificate of authority to practice in the State of Ohio.  Current certificate to prescribe (CTP) in the State of Ohio and a current DEA number.  Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing OR Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program and National Certification Commission for Physician Assistant (NCCPA).  Mastera's degree is required.  Minimum of two years experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in cardiovascular setting, acute care is required.
