Position summary

Internal Resource Pool Nurse (Job Opening 445042) - Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research; the Staff Nurse will function as a Registered Nurse - Patient Care Coordinator (RN-PCC) and as a member of a team of professional health care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect; provides patient care and supportive services in an in-patient setting directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs; ensures patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. Position Summary: The RN-PCC coordinates the patient care team in providing and documenting patient care in accordance with applicable standards of practice; applies nursing process to all areas of practice; manages and provides health care and education to patients and their families during hospitalization; assesses, implements, coordinates, delegates and evaluates nursing care of patients; prioritizes patient care needs and provides care accordingly; performs specialized nursing care procedures as outlined in department/unit-specific competency profiles; coordinates patient encounters, admissions, transfers and discharges; provides leadership to, and development of, patient care team; identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes; participates in performance improvement activities; participates in medical and nursing research activities.

Education and experience

Graduate of an accredied school of registered nursing. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
