Position summary

Nursing Program Manager (Job Opening 445250) - Scope of Position Perioperative Services at The Ohio State University Medical Center include the perioperative nursing and support services at various unit hospitals, including the University Hospital, the James Cancer Hospital, the Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital East, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Clinical Program Manager coordinates perioperative policy creation and implementation throughout Perioperative Services, assists with system-wide perioperative initiatives and projects, such as CRM, Joint Commission readiness, perioperative specific audit tools and tracking, standardization of CBL?s, and competencies as they relate to quality of care and patient safety. Additionally will provide opportunity and facilitate input to changes regarding IHIS and Op-time. Position Summary The Clinical Program Manger works in concert with the business unit directors of perioperative services and perioperative support services. This individual is responsible for the formulation and implementation of system-wide perioperative services policies and assisting in the formulation and implementation of initiatives to maintain or improve standards of perioperative care. Additionally, assists with system-wide perioperative initiatives and projects, such as CRM, Joint Commission readiness, perioperative specific audit tools and tracking, standardization of CBL?s, and competencies as they relate to quality of care and patient safety. Additionally will provide opportunity and facilitate input to changes regarding IHIS and Op-time.

Education and experience

Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN, licensed to practice nursing in the state of Ohio, Master prepared strongly preferred. Minimum of 4-6 years experience in perioperative nursing. Demonstrated expertise in areas of health care quality, process improvement & patient safety. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. Knowledge, understanding and experience using performance improvement tools and methodology. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Experience facilitating teams or committees. Strong data management and analytical skills. Ability to organize data and information into a succinct, effective and meaningful format for customers.
