Staff Nurse-B (Job Opening 454725) - Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. The Patient Care Coordinator-Registered Nurse functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient Care unit, who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Patient Care Coordinator- Registered Nurse (PCC-RN), Surgical Technologist, Perioperative Technician and Clerical Specialists provide patient care and supportive services that are directed toward achievement of patient care outcome, serve as patient advocate, improving services levels, reducing the length of hospitalization and decreasing costs. Patients and their family will experience the benefit of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. The operating rooms, located on the fourth floor of Doan and Rhodes Hall, consist of 22 operating rooms with additional4 operating rooms on the fifth floor of Doan Hall. The operating room is staffed 24 hours per day for primarily adult patients requiring surgical intervention. Care is provided by Registered Nurses and Surgical Technologists. A Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care of each patient in the operating room and is the circulator for each surgical procedure. Position Summary: The Patient Care Coordinator-registered Nurse (PCC-RN) is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising the other members of the patient care team. They are responsible for possessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients. The perioperative PCC-RN delivers care within the scope of the nursing process as reflected in AORN Standards and Recommended Practices and Perioperative Nursing Service Policies and Procedures. Education and experience

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
