Internal Resource Pool-PCC (Job Opening 456332) - Scope of Position The mission of Ohio State?s Wexner Medical Center is to improve people?s lives through innovation in research, education and patient care. The primary focus of the department of OSU Sports Medicine is to ensure the highest level of health and wellness. The goals of the department include (but are not limited to): a) provide a high level of engagement with patients regarding health and wellness; b) support triaging at contracted student health facility; c) work in partnership with supervising CNP and physicians on staff; d) support wellness initiatives of contracted university services; e) support in other areas of need to help consistent delivery of care. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the Patient Care Coordinator manages the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health, wellness and acute-care services in order to achieve positive patient care outcomes and meet organization wide goals as a workplace of choice. Position Summary The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for managing care to the patient and family, and for directing and supervising the other members of the patient care team. He/she is responsible for assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care of patients. The PCC-RN prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the patient care team. Individuals within this position must be able to function fully within performance expectations defined for nurses in a surgical setting. Position located at the JCSMI Outpatient Surgery Center ? 2835 Fred Taylor Drive. Late coverage is assigned on a rotating basis.

Education and experience

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio licensure or interim permit. Previous surgical center experience preferred.
