Position summary

Assistant Professor-Clinical (Job Opening 438675) - Assistant Professor-Clinical to serve as a Genetic Counselor in the Division of Human Genetics within the Department of Internal Medicine; responsible for working with the current OSU-GCGP leadership team (Director, Associate Director, and Medical Director) on curricular design and assessment, teaching in the curriculum, and mentoring student research projects; plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining relationships with clinical training sites, implementing opportunities for clinical supervisor professional development, and monitoring student acquisition of the ACGC Practice Based Competencies through their clinical practicum experiences; participates in academic clinical and research initiatives in the Division of Human Genetics dependent on the applicant?s clinical specialty and/or area of interest, although preference will be given to counselors with experience in cardiovascular, general genetics, and/or cancer.

Education and experience

Master's degree in genetic counseling required; successful completion of a genetic counseling graduate program accredited by the American board of genetic counseling required; board certified or eligibility for certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling required; current licensure to practice genetic counseling from the State of Ohio Medical Board required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
