Position summary

Assistant Professor-Clinical (Job Opening 442666) - Assistant Professor-Clinical to serve as a member of the Division of Human Genetics within the Department of Internal Medicine. The position is supported by The James Cancer Hospital and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and will focus upon the genetics leukemia. The qualified candidate will be integrated into the leukemia clinical team and the research efforts of the program. This individual will be responsible for building a nationally recognized program excelling in patient care and distinguished by research. Participation in academic research, publication, and procurement of external funding is expected. Modest teaching responsibilities are expected and include training of medical and graduate students, nursing, faculty, and allied medical professionals; embarks on a program of research and obtains external funding; ensures continuing education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.

Education and experience

Master's level degree in Genetic Counseling required; completion of an accredited program in genetic counseling, eligible for genetic counseling licensure in Ohio from the State of Ohio Medical Board; board eligible or certified genetic counselor required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
