Position summary

Professor (Job Opening 443767) - Professor who serves as a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science; plans and conducts independent sponsored research program and participates in department and collaborative research; conceptualizes and writes research proposals; seeks and obtains federal and non-federal funded research projects; trains and supervises research staff; trains and directs residents and medical students on research projects ; transfers individual research program(s) that includes NIH funding from current institution; continues to expand his/her individual research program and continue to apply and have funded NIH grants;

Education and experience

must have PhD or MD with strong proven research background and record of successful NIH funding preferred; prefer candidate to have an established funded program; research area of interest must be associated with Ophthalmology; Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
