Position summary

Open Faculty Search (Job Opening 456666) - Faculty position in Department of Emergency Medicine; serves as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on sponsored research grants and on original research projects; conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the area of stem cell biology and cardiac regeneration; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support research program; secures and maintains NIH RO1 or equivalent funding; writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation; instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in division, department, college and university committees and initiatives.

Education and experience

Ph.D. or equivalent required; proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred; understanding of key components of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required;Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
