Position summary

Grants & Contracts Associate (Job Opening 435154) - Grants & Contracts Associate to assist with pre- and post-award activities for assigned departments and principal investigators (PIs) in collaboration with Grants and Contracts Specialists in the College of Medicine's Grant Management Office (GMO); assists with fiscal management of research grants; reconciles project expenses to budgets and sends financial summaries to PIs; monitors project budgets and reviews expenditures for approval by senior grants staff; monitors personnel appointments on projects; monitors and notifies principal investigators of funding opportunities; participates in the development of grant budgets; prepares grant budget proposals in collaboration with grant and contract specialists; assists with preparation and submission of research progress reports; ensures compliance with sponsor, university and third party regulations; assists PIs with effort certification and PET approval; assists with close-out of projects; coordinates sponsor invoicing activities and payment recognition for active studies and research agreements; assists with entry of financial data for invoicing, payment recognition and cost analysis purposes into the GMO grants financial reporting system; generates financial reports as assigned from the grants financial reporting system, provides pre-award grant support and assistance to PIs with formatting biosketches; assists with annual progress reports.

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
